Even more than 30 creatives!
A report from the 30 Creatives of Wrocław 2026 gala - Infermedica and a meeting with Professor Patkowski
A few weeks ago, our CEO at Infermedica, Piotr Orzechowski, shared the happy news that the company had been nominated and would receive a distinction at the 30 Creatives of Wrocław gala. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to represent our Team at this event, and it... exceeded my expectations!
But first things first. On the way to the city centre, heading for Centennial Hall, I thought to myself how interesting it was that Prof. Dariusz Patkowski - my mentor and teacher - had not yet received this award. Literally 10 minutes later, I heard from the stage something along the lines of: "It is remarkable that during today's gala, awards will be received by the owners of a bakery operating for 90 years, as well as a Professor of paediatric surgery." And then everything was confirmed - indeed, the Professor received this award yesterday. It was enough simply to think it!
The entire event was hosted by Paweł Gołębski, an editor at Wrocław radio station RAM (as of yesterday, my son and I are listening again!), and thanks to him it was more than a gala - it was almost a performance. Mr Gołębski, thank you - including for our later conversation. Warm thanks as well for the kind and valuable conversations with Professor Marta Sochocka (we are keeping our fingers crossed in the fight against Alzheimer's disease!), President Agnieszka Aleksandrowicz-Zdral, Associate Professor Anna Siekierka, and for a reunion after many years with the irreplaceable Editor Tomasz Wysocki!
But wait - two more words about Infermedica's distinction! Thank you to Piotr for taking Mateusz Głód and me to collect the award - as I said, I believe we are doing something truly important for people... for humanity! And it is wonderful that this is being created in Wrocław. As I mentioned from the stage - the hype around ChatGPT began in 2022, while our Wrocław-based AI in medicine was already live in 2014! Bravo, Team!
This entire meeting and distinction were particularly important to me, because I had the pleasure of appearing in this poll for the second time. In 2016, if I remember correctly, it was Editor Wysocki who nominated me for it. Thank you, and I look forward to meeting again next year (this time, of course, as a guest - unless there is a chance that third time's the charm?!)
At the same time, I cannot hide my emotion at meeting Professor Patkowski on stage - to me, it was no coincidence. Thank you, Professor, for your constant faith, for years of pushing me forward, and for the fact that we met, unarranged, in such a place!
And now I invite you to a short gallery. Warm regards!
